Dog-friendly tours were surprisingly easy to find in Charleston 🐕

Tour One: "Charleston Stroll"
⛵️ Dog-friendly walk around the city with a local guide.
⛵️ This tour takes place throughout the city and is outside the entire time, which makes it easy to navigate with a dog.

Tour Two: "Charleston Small Group Food Tour"
🦀 Seasonally dog-friendly food tour: Restaurants rotate on this tour. Be sure to inquire if the restaurants on your intended tour date allow dogs BEFORE booking
🦀 Wonderful mom of history & foodie finds around Charleston
🦀 I have a shellfish allergy & was a bit anxious to book this tour in a coastal city. The company reached out about allergies prior & provided DELICIOUS alternative meals at any location serving shellfish. No skipping food stops for me!
🦀 We lucked out on this tour & had no other guests, which meant a private guided tour for us! @getyourguidecommunity

Dog-friendly food tour?🐾 SIGN US UP!

While traveling we always try our best to take either a cooking class or food tour wherever we go.

Why?

Food = Community + Culture 👩‍🍳

Food Tours & cooking classes can teach you SO much about the area you are visiting - you can learn why certain ingredients are prominent in local recipes, the history of your favorite food/drinks, taste test regional flavor combinations, etc.

When we found out that @louisvillefoodtours had a dog-friendly tour during our recent trip to Kentucky, we were stoked! 🐶

IYKYK finding dog-friendly FOOD tours in the USA isn't always the easiest.

((Where my fellow dog travelers at? 🙋‍♀️ You know the struggle.))

We left this tour stuffed to the brim with food, drinks and history!

Parke County Covered Bridge Festival is the larges

Parke County Covered Bridge Festival is the largest festival in Indiana... 🍁🍂

And it is INCREDIBLY dog friendly!

This was our first visit to Indiana & I can wholeheartedly say that the Covered Bridge Festival needs to go on your bucket list!

It takes place in 9 cities across Parke County, Indiana & each location has something unique to offer:

🍁 Shuck your own popcorn kernels with a hand crank in Bloomingdale! Indiana is the birthplace of popcorn master, Orville Redenbacher, so you gotta try it.
🍁 Drive through picturesque covered bridges surrounded by colorful Fall leaves - a must when visiting the covered bridge capital of the world!
🍁 Head to Tangier & try their buried beef sandwiches - they literally BURY the beef to cook it, just like in the old days!
🍁 Order freshly ground grits from the Bridgeton Mill - you can watch them grind grits and flour right infront of you!
🍁 Participate in the rubber duckie race in Mecca - The goal is to have your 🦆 reach the finishline first!
🍁 Try the state pie of Indiana - Sugar Cream Pie - It's delicious.
🍁 Thrift and antique shop until you drop - there are 100s of yard sales & vintage shops in/around the Festival. We stopped by DOZENS on the way to each market.
🍁 Take a tractor ride through old Billie Creek Village and say hello to their resident goats + horses.
🍁 Have fresh, hand pressed cider and homemade corn fritters with cinnamon butter in Rockville.
🍁 Watch live wood carving in Mansfield, but don't forget to grab a persimmon pudding too!
🍁 Snag a Crueller while thrifting in Montezuma - then head to Rosedale for covered bridges & handmade quilts.

Most importantly: Enjoy the day with your pup 🐕

The only spots dogs cannot enter = inside the mills, Tangier's food hall & 1 of Rockville's tents.🎪 Everything else is easily accessible with a dog - we met tons at each location 🐾
